<image:caption>I am an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the School of Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Previously, I’ve taught at Stanford, Brown, Marlboro College, and Borough of Manhattan Community College. I teach in both the on-campus and optional-residency MFA programs, as well as in BFA and Creative Writing Minor Programs. My courses are characterized by innovative assignments that invite students to cultivate the practices and habits of mind of working writers, developing a Writer’s Research Portfolio and Annotated Bibliography, for example, or meditating on Influences and Inspirations, including ones acquired in childhood, ones they feel conflicted about, and ones emerging from media other than the written word.</image:caption>
